Koh Samui – one week in Paradise

Koh Samui – one week in Paradise

After the long flight from Zurich to Bangkok, I was looking for the transfer area to Koh Samui. This was a special area and special signed but only from one way. So, I walked around two kilometre through the airport. Arrived in Koh Samui the warm weather welcomed me. Everything at the airport is outside and really pretty. 50 minutes’ drive to the south of the island and I arrived at my hotel Centra Coconut Beach Resort. It’s a small but nice Resort. Unfortunately, it isn’t a lot of things around. So, I felt a little bit captured and lost. Anyway, I allowed myself a nice massage and dinner at the beach.

I booked in the hotel for the next day a four-wheel island tour. With a small group we visited temples, the Grandfather & Grandmother rocks, Namung waterfall, drove in the jungle up to the mountain, visited a coconut plantage and had a ride on an elephant. With that tour we nearly have seen all main spots from Koh Samui. In between we had some rainfall what is usual for the rain season. Lucky me I thought on an umbrella. Which didn’t have any use at the end.

With the shuttle from hotel I had 40 minutes to the city of Chaweng. I had to take care of my steps. I found a good restaurant, went do pedicure and a little bit of a shopping tour. Specially I bought some spices for home. Back in the hotel, I walked 10 minutes on the road to a small restaurant in the village. It was the only restaurant near but I was welcomed really nice and had a really good meal. Also, not too spicy.

Typical me, I had to book a boat tour. On time the pickup came and we drove to the near located wooden ship. On deck it was comfortable with pillows and towels. In the kitchen we had a light breakfast with fresh fruits and from the cook freshly made spring rolls. It started to rain so I was sitting in the kitchen and watching the cook how she prepares our lunch. With the Dingy we went out to the beach. Regarding the rain, I only had my bikini on so that nothing gets wet too much. There we had the chance to snorkelling. Back on the ship we had a delicious lunch and visited some more smaller islands.

After breakfast with view to the beach, I had a body peeling and massage. In the afternoon I would like to go to the night market on a small fisher village. But I was the only one so the shuttle was cancelled. So, I took a taxi and went to Lamai Beach. There I walked around the streets, bough me some fresh fruits at the market and enjoyed my time.

On my last day at the island, I would like to spend my time at the beach. Unfortunately, the rain didn’t stop the whole day. I was happy to have a balcony to read something outside. Four in the morning I had my pick up to the airport. The check-in and control went by fast and the plane departed earlier. In Bangkok I had four-hour time and allowed me a foot massage and walked around.

The Thai-food was nice but for my taste here a bit too much oil. A lot was fried as well and also a lot of sugar everywhere. The people are friendly but I don’t get along with their mindset. Koh Samui is nice and a little paradise. But I don’t feel that home in Thailand. I think it is okay to don’t like every country the same way.
