After lunch in Villahermosa, I started the engine from my rental car. And he went on with a little delay. So, I drove the remaining two and a half hours until I arrived in Palenque in front of the hotel. There I parked the car for the next two nights and booked a tour for the next day. I also went for a short walk in the city and enjoyed my dinner.

The onward journey to Mexico, Yucatan started early in the morning. The flight from Costa Rica was short and the border control went quickly. However, it took 2 hours to check the luggage. Extremely many people arrived in Cancun. I quickly found the place where I could pick up the rental car. I also waited about 1.5 hours there. Finally, I was able to take the VW Passat, my companion, for the next 2.5 weeks.

After sleeping till late, we were a bit shocked by the gloomy red sky. The smoke from the bush fires of Australia blew right over. Nevertheless, my brother Andi and I walked up and down the mountain quickly. We later tasted wine at a wine shop. In the evening we enjoy the ride on the steamship TSS Earnslaw. When we arrived at a farm there was a delicious BBQ buffet and we could watch a sheep being shorn.

Unfortunately, a piece of luggage from Tracy didn’t made it from Australia. We had booked Jucy’s accommodation near the airport and so we felt into our bed around 2 am. On the next day we enjoyed our breakfast and bought our New Zealand Mobile Numbers at the airport. We took over our campervan…

After traveling to Madrid and Barcelona, I wanted to see more of Spain. A colleague from Malaga has given me some good advice and recommended me to go visit her home. Unfortunately, she could not come along. So I decided to spend a week in Andalusia and then a weekend in Madrid.
