Canada – Impressive nature

Canada – Impressive nature

First we were going to Charottetown to walk around the harbour and the city. Charlottetown is a nice city with an Irish touch. Afterwards we drive to the south to a beautiful camp site next to the Hopewell Rocks by the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. Our site was direct by the lake with a view to the sea. After a walk, we had a good dinner. We sit around the fireplace and enjoyed marshmallows from the fire and the delicious Ice-wine with a view to the sea were the light from the moon reflected.

On the next day, we visited the Hopewell Rocks in the Bay of Fundy. While it was high-tide, we didn’t had the chance to walk until the stones. Here you can view the biggest difference from the tides, up to 15 meters. We drive six hours across New Brunswick inside forests and had again the chance to stunning of the colourful view which the nature of Canada offers in the Indian Summer. Sadly, we already didn’t saw a bear or moose. After our yummy lunchbreak which cracker and a two years old, smoked Cheddar cheese we found a nice camping site named Marina et centre de plein air on the lake Temiscouta. We walked along the lake during the moonrise and found a pub. Starched with a local beer we walked back and enjoyed delicious spareribs freshly made on the fireplace.

In the morning, we drive to the ferry from Riviére-du-Loop to Saint-Siméon across the Saint Lawrence River. After four hours and one more ferry we arrived in Tadoussac. The second ferry was for free and a very short ferry ride. In Tadoussac we booked a whale watching tour for the next day. After that we arrived in the afternoon on our camping site “Domaine des Dunes” and connected electricity, water and dumping on our motor home. Together we walked to the Rue de la Pointe Rouge where we had access to a beautyful beach. During this way we walked inside a forest where we saw bear footpaths. While it was high-tide, we had to go back and walked across the street to Tadoussac. Tadoussac is a nice city with a French and Norwegian touch. In the evening, we ate in the French restaurant named Café Bohème. The food and wine was delicious. We had to walk back a half hour. It was dark and the street was inside a forest. We also crossed a graveyard what was a bit creepy.

The whale watching tour was quite cold. Up on the boat we wrapped us in warm clothes. During the most the we were outside on the front of the boat. The wind is blowing and I had some trouble not to blow away. We saw some seals, mink whales, belugas and one finback (the second biggest whale of the world). Belugas are the white whales where you can only find here and in the arctic. On late afternoon, we drive 2.5 hours from Tadoussac next to Quebéc where we stayed for two nights on the Coop Camping Saint-Esprit.
